Participants will also explore assessment tools that can measure achievement of essential outcomes and provide useful data to ensure all students get the education they need and deserve in today's world.

The Annual Meeting offers a broad range of sessions and services that include multiple pre-conference workshops, approximately 200 general program sessions, an Exhibit Hall, a Resource Center, and an Accreditation Share Fair. More than 4,000 administrators and faculty from a wide variety of higher education institutions located throughout its 19-state region attended the 2007 Annual Meeting.
A hallmark of the Annual Meeting is it reliance on representatives of affiliated institutions to share their experience with others. General Education and Assessment will address issues central to creating and assessing a coherent general education curriculum that fosters increasingly sophisticated learning outcomes and integrates learning across the disciplines and majors. It will also explore the most promising practices in general education, including those related to the educational change process, pedagogy, curriculum design, assessment, and transfer and articulation.
