Approval Sequence
After consultations, departmental and collegiate reviews, and approvals, a proposal requiring Board of Regents or SVP/Provost (formerly "EVPP") review and formal action is forwarded by the collegiate dean to the Office of the SVP/Provost through one of four routes:
- Coordinate Campuses: A proposal originating from the Crookston, Duluth, or Morris campus is reviewed and approved by the appropriate vice chancellor and forwarded to the Office of the SVP/Provost. There are three exceptions:
- Post-baccalaureate program proposals should be submitted to the Graduate School.
- Health-related proposals should be submitted in consultation with the senior vice president for health sciences.
- Proposals for Rochester should be submitted by the sponsoring college or campus.
- SVP/Provost Schools/Colleges: Proposals involving the following Twin Cities academic units are reviewed, approved, and forwarded by the appropriate dean to the Office of the SVP/Provost:
- Biological Sciences
- Carlson School of Management
- Continuing Education
- Design
- Education and Human Development
- Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences
- Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs
- Institute of Technology
- Law
- Liberal Arts
[Note: Post-baccalaureate program proposals should be submitted to the Graduate School. All health-related proposals should be submitted in consultation with the senior vice president for health sciences.]
- AHC Schools/Colleges: Proposals are forwarded by deans of the following Academic Health Center units to the senior vice president for health sciences for review, approval, and forwarding to the Office of the SVP/Provost:
- Dentistry
- Medicine (Twin Cities and Duluth)
- Nursing
- Pharmacy (Twin Cities and Duluth)
- Public Health
- Veterinary Medicine
- Graduate School Programs: For post-baccalaureate programs, the coordinate campus, Twin Cities collegiate unit or department forwards its proposal to the Graduate School.
After review and approval, the Graduate School dean forwards the proposal to the Office of the SVP/Provost. [Note: All health-related proposals should be submitted in consultation with the senior vice president for health sciences.]
