John Ziegenhagen

John provides leadership in integrating and aligning the University's key academic processes, including academic unit compacts, academic program review, accountability reporting, and accreditation.  He is the primary staff to the Provost's Interdisciplinary Team and serves on the University's International Programs Council.  He oversees the production of the annual University Plan, Performance, and Accountability Report and serves as liaison on all matters related to accreditation of the Twin Cities campus by the North Central Association's Higher Learning Commission.  In addition, he oversees the management, evaluation, and improvement of the process for developing and submitting academic program proposals for review and action by the Provost and the University’s Board of Regents and the subsequent ongoing evaluation of approved programs.  A former U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in the Republic of Malawi, in 2008 he completed a six-month strategic planning and capacity-building project with the University of Livingstonia, a new higher education institution in Malawi.
