An April 2004 survey of over 6,000 faculty and staff examined experiences and attitudes about their jobs, their departments, and the University.

Faculty Results

Most favorable:

  • job satisfaction
  • satisfaction with University as employer
  • satisfaction with co-workers
  • satisfaction with immediate administrator
  • intentions to remain at the University
  • general well-being outside of work

Less favorable:

  • pay satisfaction
  • work-family conflict
  • support from departmental chair or responsible administrator

Staff Results

Most favorable:

  • job satisfaction
  • satisfaction with University as employer
  • satisfaction with co-workers and supervisors
  • intentions to remain at the University
  • general well-being outside of work

Less favorable:

  • satisfaction with promotion
  • pay satisfaction
